Breast Cancer Awareness Collaboration

I have not been around much lately. I felt as if I lost my creative edge. Just as writers get writers' block, I guess I got designers' block. But I feel as if I'm back now, and I am starting with this kit I made for a Breast Cancer Awareness collaboration. The collaboration is $10 and all proceeds go to Susan G Komen for the Cure. There are six kits by different designers in the collaboration.

This is my contribution:

You can find the collaboration kit here

I hope you like it--let me know what you think!

Otherwise, things are going well. I had a great summer semester and this semester is going well, too.

We have a new puppy named Robby. He is a White German Shepherd and is now five months old and is so big. But I love him sooooo much! I've had many dogs throughout my life, and by far I have fallen in love with this one fastest and with a love I've never felt for the others.

I've been on Weight Watchers since June 30 and have lost 29.8 pounds so far. Yeah, me!!!!!

New Kit--It's All in the Hips

I've been kind of quiet. I had a hectic last three weeks of school this semester, and during the last week purchased a new pick up (one of the really nice crew cab ones that drives rides like a Cadillac) and quickly got that tagged before leaving on a two week vacation. Spent most of the last week working on laundry, etc.--I'm sure you know what awaits you when you get back from vacation. But I am back now, and I hope to be much more active!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to belly dance for exercise, and I love to watch professional dancers such as Rachel Brice and Sadie perform. I feel belly dancing is every bit as artistic as ballet, but that is my humble opinion.

A while back, Kirsti designed a belly dancer when I asked for one (see my blog a couple postings back), and I took that and designed a kit around it. I hope you like it. It is scrapper size this time, which can be made smaller for tagging a lot better than tagging size can be enlarged for scrapping.

Here is a preview of the kit:
Photobucket

It is available here.

There are
20 papers
11 frames
8 bead elements
11 flower elements
12 ribbons & bows
25 other elements
Word Art
1 Belly Dancer

The store I sell at is here. All of my scraps available for sale are available here. Note with the upcoming sale (starts June 1, see earlier blog about it) you can get each one of my kits for only $2.

I made one tag with this, so far. I hope to write the tut for it soon. You can see the tag here, and check back in the next day or two for the tutorial.

Claudia the Belly Dancer

I have to share this CU item from another store. Kirsty is one of the designers I’ve always loved. I’ve bought some of her kits, and quite a bit of her CU items. Recently she has done fairies, etc., and this weekend she put out a hula dancer. I messaged her back and said “You need to do a belly dancer!” Well, guess what, she did. She even named it after me!! I am so excited and so honored!!!

Photobucket

This is her blog: Kirsty's Scraps
This is the store I purchased her items from, although she does sell at two stores: The Scrappin' Fivas Designz
Finally, here is the direct link to the Claudia The Bellydancer!

In case you wondered, I love the art of belly dancing. I belly dance for exercise, don't know if I'll ever get good enough to be on the stage. And I absolutely love to watch belly dancing.

To check out my favorite belly dancer, Sadie, go here. Wait until you see what she can do with the tassel that hangs down from her top! I got to go to a weekend long training and performance weekend with her. It was awesome!!

When looking for this link, I found another one that is even more awesome than the one above, here.

I haven't danced in quite a while, think I'm going to get my DVDs out!

And I can see into the future, and I see a new kit in the very near future!

New Freebie--Sisters

I made this kit for a MySpace group I am in for their weekly scrap kit game. The group is
StarryEyed Sisters Scrap-n-Stuff
, moderated by two sisters, Robin and Angie. They have lots of great tagging offers and fun tagging games. The colors are based on their new group layout. If you like tagging, stop by and check out their group.

New Scrap Kit

You know those surveys your friends send to you and you fill them out and send them on to all your friends? Well there is a question that often pops up on those--what is your favorite smell? Mine is orange blossoms. I lived in the heart of citrus groves in Florida as a teen and into my early twenties. In March, the entire area would be permeated with that sweet smell. It is pure heaven!

I picked the colors for this kit without really thinking about a particular theme or name, but the more I worked on it the more it reminded me of the green trees and the bright oranges on them.

I do hope you like it. It is HUGE!!!! There are
13 papers
31 bows and ribbons
14 frames
13 beads
10 insects
16 flowers
and
60 miscellaneous elements

Photobucket

You can purchase here: GBL Creations
Please browse around the entire store, but here is the link directly to the kit:

I would love to see anything you create with my kits. Please e-mail me here: clewing53@gmail.com

New Scrap Kit

I am still trying to figure out how to put the blinkies on my blog to link to the store where I am now a designer. But, until I do, I thought I would at least post this announcement, link and the link to my new scrap kit.

Please stop by and check out the store, and if you are so inclined, buy my scrap kit, too!

My Valentine Kit--Here's My Heart

I've been working on this for the past week or so, but have just had too much else going on. School started up again, and I think I will really enjoy this semester, but I'm going to have to spend a lot of time on homework. I wanted to get this posted tonight, because I have company coming in tomorrow morning for a couple days.

I hope you like it, let me know what you think. Suggestions about what else to include, or things to leave out, etc., would be appreciated. Also color suggestions.

So, here it is--thanks for stopping by.

Scrap Kit for Linda

Here is another kit that I have really had fun making. Thanks to Linda for suggesting the colors, I never would have thought of using these two colors together, but I love how it turned out. Linda is a great friend, I have never met face to face, but have met through tagging groups and we have become quite close. I am really thankful for having her in my life, and so I dedicate this kit to her. Love ya, lady!

I just checked the number of files in this, and there are 88 elements!!! There is also a sheet of Word Art. WOW! All of the papers and elements are not shown in the previews.

Anyway, let me know what you think,

Hugs,

Claudia
